Civil engineering software start-up with pioneering artificial intelligence-based software is looking for a full-time Practical Evolutionary Computing Java Developer.
Position involves:
- Developing, enhancing, debugging, and supporting software designed to support the land development industry.
- Working closely with business partners to design, code, and implement quality solutions based on complex algorithms and theory.
- Collaborating with other internal and external technology teams to coordinate delivery of software systems.
- Working under minimal supervision.
- Traveling roughly 10%, as needed to collaborate with other technology teams and clients.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience programming.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Master's degree in related field
- Broad natural computing background
- Knowledge of how evolutionary algorithms work
- Advanced data structure skill sets
- Excellent analytical skills; proactive and eager problem solver
- Takes personal initiative; conscientiousness and complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
- Able to work well within a small, focused, talented team
- Applicants must be currently able to work in the United States
Pluses:
- Experience with geometric algorithms, Java, land development background, and / or experience with CAD tools.
Civil Engineering Support Specialist – Land Development

For a Civil Engineer who is outgoing, team oriented, highly organized and excited by technology, this is the opportunity of a lifetime. We are a civil engineering software company in Charlotte, NC with pioneering artificial intelligence-based software, and we’re looking for a full-time Civil Engineering Support Specialist with a Land Development background.
This position is an essential part of a collaborative, creative technology team with a corporate culture that values integrity and intelligence. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, tech-savvy and positive, and will possess superior communication and problem solving skills.

Requirements:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years experience in private engineering firm
- Experience with the following land development processes: grading, storm drainage, detention
- EIT and/or PE Certification in at least one state
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Land Desktop or Civil 3D® required. Proficiency with Bentley Microstation and other CAD products a plus.
- This position provides frontline engineering services and support to customers, while working closely with our sales and product development teams to provide feedback on our processes and products.
Essential responsibilities include the following:
- Using our online site optimization software to validate and process client sites.
- Answering questions, troubleshooting, and assisting clients and internal team members using our land development software.
- Performing “deep dive” demonstrations of software for potential prospects.
- Working with product development team to refine and improve products.
- Attending tradeshows several times yearly, and traveling up to 50% as needed to collaborate with clients within the United States.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience
- Minimum of 2 years CAD experience with: Bentley Micro stations, AutoCAD Land Desktop, or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Expert skill sets using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word (must be familiar with using tables), Excel, and Power Point
- Friendly customer service oriented demeanor with the ability to self manage and self motivate
- Excellent analytical skills; proactive and eager problem solver
- Strong oral and written communications with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Takes personal initiative; is conscientious and completes follow-through on areas of responsibility
